About Me & Research

Short Bio:
I studied biology in Leipzig where I developed a keen interest in insects. After investigating the local beetle diversity in my Bachelor’s and Master’s Thesis, I now focus on researching and understanding the evolution of heritable insect- microbe symbioses.

Research Interests:

  • Wolbachia
  • Solitary bees
  • Nutritional symbiosis
  • (Meta-)Genomics

Current Projects:
B-Vitamin supplementation by Wolbachia to insect hosts.

Fun Fact:I am still very fond of beetles! I used to not be able to properly operate a phone and now I spend most of my time in the Linux command line. If I’m not in the office, I’m probably making Tea or Coffee.
